Radiologic Studies on Duodeno-Gastric Reflux

Abstract

|
Bile reflux through incompetent pyloric sphincter has been generally recognized as the preponderant factor in the causation of gastritis and gastric ulcer.
This study was carried out prospectively to analyze the frequency of barium reflux and relationship between the reflux and gastritis or gastric ulcer about 140 cases diagnosed rentgenologically at the Dept. of Radiology, Holy Family Hospital from Sept 1986 for 2 months.
The results were as follows:
1. We observed D-G reflux in 103, cases among 140 patients(73.6%).
2. The incidence of gastritis and gastric ulcer is significantly increased in patients with D-G reflux.
